Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, plans, and programs related to employee relations, injury compensation, and unemployment compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare policies, plans, and programs to ensure compliance with statute, executive order, OPM, and DoD regulations.
  • Analyze program objectives and formulate action plans to achieve short-term and long-range goals.
  • Conduct assessments to ensure quality and consistency throughout the organization.
  • Provide recommendations for action on various issues impacting the program.
  • Manage Navy's injury compensation and unemployment compensation programs.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience preparing major policies, plans, or programs related to employee relations.
  • Experience conducting assessments of assigned programs.
  • Experience developing and administering human resources policies, processes, and procedures.
