Role Overview:

The Apple Cloud Engineering division is seeking a highly skilled software engineer to facilitate the integration and testing of software, leading and orchestrating workloads across advanced and energy-efficient systems that will drive the future of data centers.


In this collaborative environment, you will play a pivotal role in various initiatives aimed at leveraging hardware acceleration for machine learning and high-performance computing tasks.

You will collaborate with teams throughout Apple to adapt, customize, and scale software on an innovative computing platform, contributing to the foundational architecture of our future cloud infrastructure.

We are in search of an individual with demonstrated expertise in constructing and managing scalable, resilient systems.

A strong blend of academic knowledge and hands-on experience, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for tackling complex challenges, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
You will engage cross-functionally with architecture, platform design, SOC architects, and software teams to automate and validate exceptional hardware, software, and services.

Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining the system infrastructure that supports the next generation of data centers. You will ensure high standards of quality and agility through unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests.


You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and driving test plans and test suites based on specification documents.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong expertise in software development and testing methodologies.
  • A passion for creating new features, automating processes, and maintaining existing code, along with troubleshooting issues.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in effective communication and enjoy engaging with others.


Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as C/C++, Golang, Python, or Shell
- Experience with automation and CI/CD processes
- Understanding of microservice architectures and deployment strategies in cloud and/or edge environments
- Familiarity with cloud orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Nomad, Apache Mesos, or similar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to assess issues, prioritize effectively, and propose solutions
- Experience with Swift, Objective-C, and Apple development tools is a significant advantage
- Enthusiasm for software architecture, APIs, and high-performance extensible software
- Creative, collaborative, and product-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for career progression as you grow and develop in your role.

The base salary range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, with your salary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
