General Overview
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Executive Vice President of Operations is responsible for steering the daily management and administration of the organization.
Under the guidance of the President, this role encompasses oversight of all operational functions, including risk management, facilities, human resources, and technology.
The Executive Vice President ensures effective policy execution while promoting a positive workplace culture and advancing strategic initiatives that align with the mission of Urban Strategies.
With an emphasis on operational efficiency, compliance, and growth management, this position is vital in shaping the future direction of Urban Strategies and its collaborative efforts with faith-based partners to impact Latino children and families.

As a collaborative team player, you will work alongside various departments to ensure comprehensive support for each organizational unit and their specific project requirements.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in operational roles within mid-sized organizations or similar entities with 300 or more employees.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational enhancements and meet strategic objectives.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinker with a background in analyzing complex challenges and crafting innovative solutions.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (Spanish) and/or bicultural (Latino)
Familiarity with philanthropy or public grants
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership Act as a principal leader for internal operations, collaborating closely with the President and management team to cultivate a culture of organizational excellence, balancing robust internal systems with a spirit of mission-driven innovation to foster holistic community transformation.
Responsible for overseeing core internal functions and leaders, including compliance, risk management, assets, technology, and human resources.Facilitate seamless coordination among various departments, ensuring that all operational activities align with the strategic objectives of the organization.
Lead initiatives to promote cross-functional collaboration and shared goals.Drive continuous improvement efforts, utilizing advanced technologies, data analytics, and best practices to achieve optimal efficiency, productivity, profitability, and excellence across all operations.
Risk Management and Compliance Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies that proactively identify and mitigate operational risks. Ensure organizational resilience and preparedness to navigate challenges while safeguarding assets and reputation.Lead compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies. Proactively address compliance challenges to protect the integrity of the organization and minimize legal and operational risks.
Facility and Asset Management Create and execute advanced facility management strategies that optimize space utilization, safety, and operational efficiency. Ensure facilities meet business needs and comply with regulatory standards.
Oversee the management of organizational assets, including equipment, technology, and real estate, ensuring their effective use and longevity. Initiate projects to enhance asset performance and return on investment.
Commit to ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing proactive measures to maintain a safe and sustainable work environment.
Human Resources and Talent Management Supervise all HR functions with a strategic focus, ensuring talent acquisition, retention, and development align with the long-term goals of the organization.

Lead initiatives to cultivate the next generation of leaders within the organization. Implement effective succession planning to ensure leadership continuity and organizational stability.Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and employee development.
Enhance employee engagement, particularly in ways that resonate with the community-focused mission and the organization's values of servant leadership, intentional compassion, and authentic relationships.
IT Strategy and Management Oversee the formulation and execution of IT strategies that bolster and enhance the operational capabilities of the organization.
Ensure the IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable to meet evolving business demands.Support IT leadership in leveraging technology to improve operational effectiveness and achieve strategic goals.
Financial Management Collaborate with the Finance Director to devise and implement financial strategies that promote operational excellence and profitability. Participate in the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and operational plans to meet financial objectives.
Engage in monitoring and analyzing financial performance, implementing strategies to optimize revenue, control costs, and maximize profitability.
Strategic Planning and Execution Serve as a strategic partner to the President and executive team in developing and executing initiatives that drive business growth, market expansion, and operational excellence.
Lead efforts to leverage market trends, particularly in areas that align with the strengths and services of community and faith-based organizations.
Assess trends in federal funding and the non-profit sector to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation that further the mission of Urban Strategies and its partners.
