POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support by drafting and maintaining legal documents, organizing files, and assisting in the preparation of legal matters. This position involves conducting research, preparing statistical reports, and managing confidential information, along with various clerical tasks such as preparing correspondence, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

POPULATION SERVED

The role does not involve direct patient care and is applicable to individuals aged 18 and older. Specific age-related experience or specialized training is not required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

A High School diploma or equivalent is required. The candidate must possess strong computer and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting legal research to identify relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
  • Analyzing and summarizing legal documents and findings.
  • Assisting in the drafting of legal documents, including contracts, wills, pleadings, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Preparing and organizing exhibits for trials or hearings.
  • Managing case files, ensuring records and databases are maintained and updated.
  • Organizing and tracking case-related documents and correspondence.
  • Coordinating and scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Collaborating with court clerks, other law firms, and external parties as necessary.
  • Filing legal documents with appropriate agencies and maintaining organized physical and electronic files in accordance with office protocols.
  • Assisting with special projects as assigned, which may include research, drafting, or coordination with external experts.
