POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal Assistant plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive support by drafting and maintaining legal documents, organizing case files, and assisting in the preparation of legal proceedings. This position also involves conducting research, preparing analytical reports, managing confidential information, and performing clerical tasks such as drafting correspondence, coordinating conference calls, and scheduling meetings.

POPULATION SERVED

This role does not involve direct interaction with patients, focusing instead on supporting legal operations for individuals aged 18 and older. Specific age-related experience or specialized training is not a prerequisite for this position.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional computer proficiency and communication skills, along with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting legal research to identify relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
  • Analyzing and summarizing legal documents and findings.
  • Assisting in the drafting of legal documents, including contracts, wills, pleadings, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Preparing and organizing exhibits for trials or hearings.
  • Managing case files, ensuring records and databases are maintained and updated.
  • Organizing and tracking case-related documents and correspondence.
  • Coordinating and scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings.
  • Handling administrative responsibilities such as answering phones, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Collaborating with court clerks, other law firms, and external parties as necessary.
  • Filing legal documents with courts and other agencies, while maintaining and organizing both physical and electronic files according to office protocols.
  • Assisting with special projects as assigned, which may include research, drafting, or liaising with external experts.
