Job Summary:

As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Albany Med, you will play a critical role in the detection and diagnosis of disease. You will utilize your knowledge and clinical laboratory experience to perform testing in an accurate and timely manner. This position requires the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility with minimal supervision by the director or supervisor in only those specialties or subspecialties for which you are qualified by education, training and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform testing and compile report results on laboratory specimens.
Thoroughly, accurately and legibly document test results and quality control.
Use effective written and verbal communication skills to cooperatively work with customers and employees.
Perform maintenance and quality control procedures.
Use automated equipment and instruments as well as microscopes, cell counters, and other sophisticated laboratory equipment.

Requirements:

Must meet NYS Education Department requirements for Clinical Laboratory Technologist and be licensed by the NYSED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Must have a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology OR a bachelor's degree with the minimum number of required credit hours in the sciences AND have received appropriate clinical education in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technology program.

Work Environment:

This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
