Position Overview

ActiveSoft, Inc is seeking a skilled Lead Infrastructure Engineer to enhance our technology landscape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and optimization of our server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Server Management: Oversee and maintain Windows server ecosystems, guaranteeing peak performance and uptime.
  • Virtualization: Deploy, configure, and manage Hyper-V virtual infrastructures.
  • Storage Solutions: Administer and supervise storage systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Cloud Services: Implement and manage Azure cloud solutions, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components.
  • Automation: Streamline file delivery and repetitive tasks through automation tools.
  • Database Administration: Manage SQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Network Security: Configure and maintain Fortigate and Unifi firewalls to protect network integrity.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and enhance configurations.
  • Compliance: Uphold security and compliance standards by implementing best practices.
  • Technical Support: Provide guidance and support to end-users and internal teams.
  • Backup and Recovery: Conduct regular system backups and develop disaster recovery strategies.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies to keep our infrastructure efficient and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Windows System Administrator.
  • Proficient in Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
  • Strong understanding of storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure resources.
  • Expertise in Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and scripting languages.
  • Experience with automation tools and task scheduling.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL database management.
  • Experience in configuring and managing Fortigate and Unifi firewalls.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA: Windows Server).
  • Experience with additional virtualization technologies.
  • Understanding of networking principles and protocols.
  • Familiarity with various database management systems (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Certifications in firewall technologies (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Ubiquiti).
