Position Overview:
We are looking for a Principal Mechanical Engineer at our global headquarters who will tackle intricate mechanical design challenges while contributing to a pioneering company leading the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support research initiatives to develop groundbreaking designs for equipment and their internals.
  • Design and operate laboratory-scale process equipment to explore issues such as distribution, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and cyclical operations.
  • Conduct stress and structural failure analyses to support research projects, capital initiatives, and operational facilities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, academic institutions, and testing facilities to enhance mechanical engineering capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for plant visits, conferences, and supplier engagements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the chemical processing or energy sectors.
  • Experience in mechanical design at fabrication facilities, construction sites, and operational plants.
  • Familiarity with prototype mechanical designs, whether experimental or computational.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in gasification, ammonia production, CO2 capture and sequestration, or hydrogen production.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering design standards.
  • Understanding of machining techniques, fabrication methods, and welding processes.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) modeling.
  • Knowledge of nonmetallic materials design.
  • Experience with cryogenic materials performance and testing.
  • Familiarity with cyclical processes.
