Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II Certified to join our team at Christus Health. As a Pharmacy Technician II Certified, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Pharmacists with Medication Histories and train Tech I associates.
- Prepare drug orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Verify computerized patient medication records accurately and maintain accurate, complete patient drug records.
- Compound pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products accurately.
- Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law and institutional policies.
- Provide services efficiently and in a timely fashion, verifying daily activities of the department are complete and recorded.
- Maintain competency required for current job title/position and ensure applicable CE records and licensure are maintained in department files.
- Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities of the department, collecting data, conducting monitors, and inspections, and maintaining logs, records, and other documentation as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours); or meet minimum State requirement.
