Pharmacy Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in assisting our pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IVs, PCA's, and chemotherapeutic intravenous medications.
- Prepare and package medications for unit dose packaging and maintain packaging records.
- Run fill-lists and prepare medications for Cubies and Pyxis stations.
- Deliver medications and IVs to patient care areas and deliver controlled substances to patient care areas.
- File completed prescriptions alphabetically on the shelf for patient pickup and answer the outpatient window and ring out refills as needed.
- Operate cash register and related front counter tasks as needed.
- Reconstitute medication by adding a specific quantity of distilled water and handle nonprofessional phone calls from patients, provider offices, and staff.
- Enter outpatient prescriptions into the computer and prepare labels for medications to be checked by the pharmacist.
- Purchase medications from suppliers, check in the order, process invoices, credits, and backorders, and restock medications on the shelves as needed.
- Inspect medications for outdates in patient care area Pyxis stations on a monthly basis and in central pharmacy as assigned.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and educational in-services as requested by management.
- Promote a safety-conscious work environment and maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Accredited Program Required: Pharmacy Technician from a Pharmacy Commission-approved technician training program.
- Minimum of 1 year Preferred: Experience in hospital pharmacy utilizing unit dose, IV admixtures, and pharmacy computer systems.
- Preferred: Experience with Excel and Work.
- Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician - National and Certified Pharmacy Tech - Washington.
This position requires the ability to move around the area with occasional sitting, occasional squatting/kneeling/bending, and frequent reaching. The ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and push/pull up to 14 lbs force occasionally is also required.
Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals is a potential hazard of this position. Normal vision and hearing are required, as well as the ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
