Job Title: Machine Shop Manager

A leading manufacturing company, EPS Connects LLC, is seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of a team of machinists, planners, programmers, buyers, and support staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing the team to perform complex machined parts, assemblies, and flight hardware production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a Manufacturing Plan for new orders.
  • Identify resource requirements and manage responsibilities to meet production needs.
  • Review and implement process changes to ensure cost and schedule adequacy.
  • Provide direction to support functions for Material Procurement, Electronic Modelling, Programming, and Specific Work Instructions.
  • Maintain and update a schedule of all open orders.
  • Participate in weekly Job Cost Review meetings to provide explanations and recommended improvements.
  • Coordinate with Inspection departments for efficient production.
  • Create and document Root Cause and Corrective Actions for escapes.
  • Ensure all contractual requirements and deliveries are met.
  • Transition work requirements between shifts as necessary.
  • Implement disciplinary and technical coordination of machine shop employees with a team building focus.
  • Monitor and prioritize the kitting of new jobs prior to releasing to production.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a metal contract manufacturing environment.
  • Precision machining and sheet metal work experience for large products.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills as a member or leader with suppliers, customers, and governmental oversight organizations.
  • Ability to lead by influencing, negotiating, and delegating.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerances, drawing interpretation, and shop math.
