Repair Development Engineer

At StandardAero, we're committed to excellence and innovation in the aerospace industry. As a Repair Development Engineer, you'll play a critical role in supporting the flow of production parts and repairs, working independently in an offsite location to coordinate the transition of parts and technical data between production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the transition of parts and technical data between production facilities.
  • Work independently in an offsite location, acting as a liaison between different teams of engineers and production leaders.
  • Develop systems and processes to support communication and reporting of key metrics.
  • Provide technical expertise and experience necessary to make airworthiness engineering decisions regarding major repair design activities.
  • Work with cutting-edge technology and processes to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Compile and analyze data on repairs, identify root causes, and develop measures of performance on all repair processes.
  • Support the production development group activity in modifying and refining existing repair schemes to eliminate and/or reduce the number of rejects occurring.
  • Provide technical training support or mentoring for repair development and metallurgical analysis.
  • Direct acquisition of equipment as required to meet repair development objectives.
Requirements:
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong project management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company process, company instruction and rework process instruction manuals.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
  • University degree in materials science, mechanical engineering or metallurgy; or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance.
  • Experience in an aerospace engineering environment.
  • Fully conversant with testing methods and experiment design to meet airworthiness compliance program requirements.
