Position Overview:
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To evaluate and manage low to mid-level auto and transportation claims.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage auto property damage and minor injury claims; assess damages, process payments, and ensure thorough documentation and accurate coding of claim files.
  • Develop and implement action plans to meet state-mandated deadlines and facilitate timely resolution of claims.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities; manage salvage processes.
  • Communicate claim progress and processing details with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients.
  • Conduct coverage, liability, and damage assessments for all assigned claims.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the organization's quality initiatives.
  • Travel as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred but not mandatory. Must secure and maintain state adjusting licenses as required for the role. Holding a current home state license is advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with personal and commercial insurance policies and endorsements.
  • Ability to evaluate and negotiate property damage estimates, total loss assessments, and related expenses for first and third-party claims.
  • Knowledge of total loss processing, state salvage documentation, and title requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding service expectations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

NOTE: A credit security clearance, verified through a background credit check, is required for this position.

Pay Transparency:
In compliance with legal requirements, Sedgwick provides a reasonable compensation range for roles in jurisdictions that mandate pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and location costs. For this role, the starting pay range is $50,000. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including medical, dental, vision, 401k with matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending accounts, and other voluntary benefits.
