PRIMARY PURPOSE: To evaluate and manage low to mid-level auto and transportation claims.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles auto property damage and minor injury claims; evaluates damages, processes payments, and ensures that claim files are accurately documented and coded according to policy requirements.
  • Develops and maintains action plans to meet state-mandated contract deadlines and to facilitate prompt and appropriate resolution of claims.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities for subrogation; manages salvage processes.
  • Communicates claim processing actions with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.
  • Maintains professional relationships with clients.
  • Conducts coverage, liability, and damage assessments for all claims.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs other assigned duties.
  • Supports the organization's quality initiatives.
  • Travels as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Licensing: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred but not mandatory. Must secure and maintain the necessary state adjusting licenses for the role. Holding a current home state license is advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with personal and commercial insurance policies and endorsements.
  • Ability to assess Property Damage estimates, total loss evaluations, and related expenses to effectively negotiate claims.
  • Knowledge of total loss processing, state salvage documentation, and title requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Capacity to meet or exceed service expectations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Pay Transparency:

As mandated by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and specific location costs. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting, the starting pay range for this role is $50,000.
