Position Overview:
As an Insurance Claims Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and manage auto and transportation claims at a low to mid-level complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process auto property damage claims and lower-level injury claims, ensuring accurate documentation and coding in accordance with policy guidelines.
  • Develop and implement action plans to meet state-mandated deadlines while facilitating timely and appropriate claim resolutions.
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities, managing salvage processes effectively.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding claim status with insured parties, clients, and agents or brokers as necessary.
  • Uphold professional relationships with clients.
  • Conduct thorough coverage, liability, and damage assessments for all assigned claims.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
  • Contribute to the organization’s quality initiatives.
  • Travel as necessary for the role.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensing:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must secure and maintain the necessary state adjusting licenses for the position, with a current home state license being advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Understanding of personal and commercial insurance policies and endorsements.
  • Ability to evaluate Property Damage estimates and negotiate claims effectively.
  • Familiarity with total loss processing and state salvage requirements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Excellent analytical and interpretive abilities.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to meeting or exceeding service expectations.

Pay Transparency:
Sedgwick provides a reasonable compensation range for roles in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency. Actual compensation will depend on various factors, including skills, experience, and location.
