Scope of Work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you will be an integral part of our clinical support team. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Your role will involve supporting the healthcare team in various aspects of patient care, including administrative tasks, clinical procedures, and patient education.

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient care activities, such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering medications.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and communicating with patients and families.
  • Participate in patient education and support, including providing information about treatment options, medications, and self-care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent required within 120 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 120 days of hire.
