Scope of Work

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in providing patient-centered care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, the RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients.

The RN works collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures. The RN recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.

The RN partners with patients and families to develop individualized plans of care, incorporating patient goals and preferences. The RN also educates patients and families on health management and disease prevention, documenting education and learning in the patient's medical record.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year
  • NIH Stroke Certification - NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale within 90 days

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Registered Nurse must be able to perform the following physical demands:
