Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse (ER) to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in the emergency room department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and care for the nursing needs of emergency room patients and other types of patients as assigned.
  • Develop plans of care to meet the needs of assigned patients.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react swiftly in emergency situations.
  • Basic knowledge of triaging patients.
  • Plan with minimal assistance in scheduling and providing comprehensive nursing care in the emergency department.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
  • Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Experience: The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Possession of a master's degree in professional nursing.
  • At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or above) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced emergency room environment and may involve exposure to infectious diseases and other hazardous materials.
