Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. As a Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to patients who have undergone surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care and support to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit, including assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and coordinate patient care activities, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, technologies, and research findings to provide evidence-based care and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the United States.
  • At least one year of experience as a Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse or in a similar role.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of post-anesthesia care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Advanced certification in a relevant specialty, such as Critical Care or Perioperative Nursing.
  • Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and practices.
