Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Educator to join our team at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, implementing, and evaluating the nursing education program for the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the teaching needs of nursing staff and identify, evaluate, and implement instructional materials to meet their needs.
  • Promote nurse professional development and competency through specialized training and certification programs.
  • Develop curriculum for identified programs based on standards of care, evidence-based practice, and educational needs of participants.
  • Coordinate orientation for new staff, working closely with other departments to ensure proper orientation is completed.
  • Operate various types of medical equipment, computers, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain financial and material resources requirements for ED-specific education and training programs.
  • Review training and travel requests based on needs and budgetary allowances.
  • Prepare, maintain, submit, record, and report on staff development, educational activities, and staff certification status.
  • Serve as an advisor or member of various hospital committees, including Trauma, Code blue, and Lab.
  • Maintain and prepare reports on employee education via Health Stream, presenting these reports as necessary.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a graduate or higher level degree in nursing, a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse, and at least one year of specialized experience in emergency care nursing.

Working Conditions

The selected individual will be required to undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. They must also obtain and maintain an active, unrestricted Nursing license in any State (U.S.).
