Job Overview and Responsibilities
This role involves the effective facilitation of services for individuals with disabilities within a Vocational Rehabilitation Service Delivery Team. The Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, Qualified Rehabilitation Professional (SVRC, QRP) is responsible for a range of critical functions, including: 1) assessing eligibility for vocational rehabilitation (VR) services; 2) prioritizing service delivery; 3) crafting the Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE); 4) managing amendments to the IPE; and 5) evaluating successful employment outcomes and completing case closures for consumers of the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).
The SVRC, QRP provides comprehensive counseling to individuals with disabilities, employing various techniques to help them adjust to their circumstances. This includes identifying barriers to employment, suggesting appropriate interventions, and developing strategies to enhance independent living and equality. The counselor interprets and applies relevant federal and state regulations to ensure compliance for each consumer.
Collaboration with the VR team is essential to identify assessment needs and coordinate service delivery. The SVRC, QRP makes final determinations regarding eligibility and service priorities, approves and signs the IPE and its amendments, and assesses successful employment outcomes. Accurate documentation of services is maintained in the electronic tracking system.

A Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field is required, along with completion of a graduate course focused on counseling theories and techniques. Strong interpersonal skills and reliability are essential for success in this role. Upon hiring, official sealed college transcripts will be necessary.
Bilingual capabilities are advantageous but not mandatory. This position may offer a hybrid telework option in line with DOR's telework policy, with in-office attendance required as necessary.
