Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist, Inpatient Rehabilitation Specialist provides direct patient and family-centered care while under the direction of the Rehabilitation Leadership Team. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluation, assessment, and treatment planning based on functional needs. Works with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and adjust treatment plan as necessary. May participate in department-wide process improvement initiatives and program development.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Communicative Disorders or equivalent
  • California license in Speech Language Pathology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • One (1) year of experience in pediatric rehabilitation, preferably with feeding/swallowing experience
Work Environment

The Speech Language Pathologist, Inpatient Rehabilitation Specialist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high energy level. The position requires the ability to lift and carry 40-50 pounds, push/pull patients on beds or stretchers, and perform lateral transfers. The physical activity requirements include bending, carrying objects, climbing, keyboard use/repetitive motion, pinching/fine motor activities, pushing/pulling, reaching forward, reaching overhead, sitting, squatting/kneeling/crawling, standing, talking/hearing, tasting/smelling, twisting, walking, and wrist position deviation.
