Job Overview

At Matrix Service Inc., we seek an experienced Industrial Piping Specialist to join our team. This role involves layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of various piping systems for new construction and maintenance projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Company's commitment to safety and adhere to the 'Core Values' at all times.

  • Receive and understand instructions and prints regarding work assignments.
  • Interpret drawings and sketches, plan working procedures, and select materials in accordance with engineering standards.
  • Lay out work, calculate dimensions, and create sketches of piping systems when necessary.
  • Set up and operate bending, threading, and cutting equipment, using hand tools or a torch to shape, prepare, and fabricate pipes for work to be done.
  • Assemble and test different piping components.
  • Prepare pipes for welded or special type joints.
  • Secure hangers and supports.
  • Handle or arrange for the handling of materials, equipment, and tools to and from the job site in the shop as part of the work.
  • Make reports of work performed.
  • Identify potential safety hazards affecting you or other employees and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Perform duties within precise limits or standards of accuracy (Quality Control).
  • May need to work from drawings and blueprints.
  • Be capable of working independently after receiving proper direction from a foreman and leading Helpers and Laborers through the job safely.
Requirements
  • A minimum of four (4) years or more experience in refinery maintenance/turnaround/construction is required.
  • A general knowledge of basic hand tools is necessary.
  • The ability to pass the Pipefitter Skills Test at 70% or higher, or complete the NCCER certification for your craft is required.
  • Completion of Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client/Site-specific training is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program.
  • Pass a background check.
  • TWIC & HHFT card preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated hiring range for this position in Washington is $34.88-$46.52 per hour. The actual salary may vary depending on qualifications, prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay.
