Position Overview: The Lead Manager of Carbon Capture Solutions will be responsible for overseeing and providing technical guidance for the development, engineering, and operation of carbon capture facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procedures for carbon capture initiatives.
  • Create comprehensive project definition documents, including scope, timelines, budget forecasts, and engineering execution strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with partners engaged in the development of carbon capture fields.
  • Coordinate with external engineering firms during the front-end engineering design and detailed engineering phases of carbon capture facilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to Environmental, Regulatory, and Air permitting teams to secure necessary environmental permits for carbon capture facilities.
  • Ensure that carbon capture plans and procedures adhere to regulatory standards and company requirements.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on Class VI wells, staying informed on relevant regulations and analyzing their potential impacts on carbon capture operations.
  • Assess risks and contribute to mitigation strategies for the development and operation of carbon capture facilities.
  • Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines and external contractors, suppliers, and the internal engineering team, defining scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Establish contractual frameworks for capital projects to optimize value for the organization.
  • Build relationships with suppliers of engineering services and major equipment.
  • Report project status transparently and accurately.

Technical Skills:

  • Apply subsurface interpretation skills, including well log evaluation, subsurface mapping, and core data analysis.
  • Characterize reservoirs for modeling projects, providing structure maps, fault interpretations, depositional environments, facies types, and petrophysical properties.
  • Review geological models and evaluate subsurface risks.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, legislation, and company standards.
  • Support facility operations through collaboration with the Operations team, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize technical, logistical, regulatory, and financial expertise to formulate project strategies and assess risks.
  • Develop and implement global best practices.
  • Promote safety leadership and perform work in a safe manner.
  • Lead projects to ensure completion within established timelines and budgets.
  • Resolve technical inquiries from contractors during engineering and construction phases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in drilling, completions, or production operations, with a focus on enhanced oil recovery and demonstrated technical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and competency in injection well regulations, permitting, reporting, and compliance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Expertise in fluid flow in porous media, injection wells, and regulatory requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Experience with numerical modeling, petrophysical analysis, well logging, and geochemistry.
  • Strong proposal writing skills.
