Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill children in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and clinical leadership to a team of Nurse Practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the achievement of departmental goals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional standards.
  • Supervise and mentor Nurse Practitioners, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and families to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland.
  • Current certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Maintain certifications by attending appropriate continuing education classes or enrolling in formal credit classes as required by state and national accrediting institutions.
  • Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Completion of an accredited NP program in the area of Pediatrics.
Working Conditions
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous material, aggressive patients, pharmacological agents, with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
  • Work requires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Work requires positioning, assisting, and/or providing emergency restraining of aggressive patients and patients experiencing loss of control; and transporting patients and/or equipment from one location to another with little likelihood for injury if proper body mechanics and procedures are followed.
