Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner Manager will have both administrative and clinical duties, including:
- Leading and mentoring nursing staff
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures
- Ensuring quality assurance in patient care
- Supervising exempt-level staff with hiring and disciplinary authority

Clinical Duties
The Practitioner will operate within institutional guidelines and the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, providing comprehensive assessments and care for patients. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing research and trends to enhance patient management
- Documenting all patient evaluations and services thoroughly
- Collaborating with physicians, fellows, and residents to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Decision-Making Authority
The Nurse Practitioner Manager will have the authority to:
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations
- Coordinate patient care and manage treatment protocols
- Evaluate test results and adjust care plans as necessary

Supervisory Role
This position includes guiding other staff members and facilitating clinical experiences for Advanced Practice Nursing candidates. Regular meetings with leadership will ensure alignment on updates and planning.

Working Environment
The role may involve exposure to various health risks, but adherence to safety protocols will minimize these concerns. The position requires physical stamina for extended periods of standing and walking.

Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland
- Certification as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience
- A Master's degree from an accredited nursing program
- Completion of an accredited NP program in Pediatrics
