Position Description
The Manufacturing Process Engineer plays a crucial role in the enhancement and development of production machinery, methodologies, and processes. This position involves conceptualizing, prototyping, and refining designs to optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and analyze existing company workflows and devise strategies for process improvement.
2. Supervise team performance and evaluate organizational procedures.
3. Investigate production time, methods, and speeds to establish standard workflow rates and enhance operational efficiency.
4. Oversee the procurement of specialized equipment, materials, or components, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
5. Develop detailed product specifications and assembly instructions.
6. Monitor and report on project assignments, machine capacity, production timelines, and potential delays.
7. Recommend technological advancements, product design modifications, and workspace layout changes to optimize quality and efficiency.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
This role requires the following qualifications and skills to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of a Manufacturing Process Engineer:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with over 3 years of experience in a related engineering role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders; adept problem-solving abilities; understanding of competitive markets; capability to manage multiple tasks in a high-demand environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and assembly drawings.
- Technical expertise with a hands-on approach.
- Strategic analytical skills to introduce innovative solutions to production processes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Competence in reviewing, understanding, and organizing data objectively.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience in process improvement methodologies using quality tools (e.g., 5-why's, corrective action, 8-D, etc.).
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to sit and utilize their hands and fingers for tasks.
Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, or balance, and may need to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Vision abilities required for this role include close vision.
During the execution of job responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery, with a noise level that can range from moderate to loud.
