Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, recording anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by physicians.
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict standards of patient care and safety.
  • Code services performed accurately and submit completed billing worksheets daily.
  • Notify Patient Service Associates of additional services requiring authorization.
  • Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment, recognizing malfunctions and taking corrective action.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
  • Maintain archives/records scans, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Act in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, respecting individual beliefs and opinions.
  • Recognize and address ethical, legal, and professional issues inherent in patient care.
  • Comply with safety and security training, OSHA standards, and regulations.
  • Participate in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities.
  • Participate in professional development activities and meetings.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and certifications.
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed.
Qualifications
  • Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program or at least two years in an Allied Health Educational Program and one year on-the-job training in ultrasonography.
  • Maintain or be eligible for certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
  • Provide evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.

The expected pay for this position ranges from $39.66 to $68.27 per hour, with actual pay computed based on years of relevant experience.
