Job Summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer III to join our Substation Design department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical plans, specifications, and standards for new and existing substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical design plans and specifications for substations, including 230kV, 115kV, and 12.5kV open-air substations and 115kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and field technicians
  • Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality designs
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and cost estimates
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or other appropriate engineering field
  • Substantial experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating, and scheduling
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the utility industry
  • Familiarity with codes and equipment utilized in the design and operation of utility systems
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering license
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices

Puget Sound Energy offers a competitive compensation and rewards package, including a salary range of $88,000.00-$146,500.00, annual goals-based incentive bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
