About the Role

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Substation Design department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical systems for our substations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical design plans and specifications for new and existing substations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation of substations
  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders
  • Lead and coordinate the work of junior engineers and technicians
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on substation design and planning
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis and design
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience working in the utility industry
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams
