As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our customers in the automotive and aerospace/defense industries.
Key Responsibilities- Drive R&D Efforts: Use your expertise in inertial navigation systems to drive research and development efforts and new product introduction projects in alignment with our strategic plans.
- Design and Develop Inertial Sensors: Create concepts, designs, analyses, and test results to make inertial sensor innovations and complete project objectives.
- Improve Technical Solutions: Improve technical solutions through expert-level knowledge of first principles, sensor physics, digital signal processing, or system modeling and testing.
- Support Electronic Design Efforts: Support electronic design efforts including analog and CPU-level digital circuit design.
- Lead Project Qualification: Lead project qualification and other test validation initiatives.
- Develop Project Plans: Develop project plans, perform project management, and apply New Product Introduction procedures for new products.
- Analyze Inertial Performance Data: Perform quantitative analysis on inertial performance test data and guide test process, manufacturing, and design improvements.
- Collaborate with Senior Scientific Staff: Work closely with senior scientific staff to ensure that the engineering projects and product development theoretical work are maintained for future systems development.
- Mentor Junior Engineering Staff: Work with and mentor junior engineering staff to ensure effective development of their knowledge and expertise related to inertial systems development and testing.
- Support Troubleshooting: Support troubleshooting of both developmental and production products.
- Provide Technical Input: Provide technical input for customer support activities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline is required.
- 5+ Years of Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience designing inertial sensors, CPU-level electronics, or digital signal processing is required.
- Programming Experience: 5+ years of relevant coding experience with C, C++, MATLAB, or Python is required.
- Proficient with FEA and CAD Software: Proficient with FEA, 3D CAD, and electrical engineering software such as SolidWorks, LabVIEW, Altium, and OrCAD is required.
- Firmware Design and Electrical Controls: Solid knowledge of firmware design, electrical controls, PCB/PCA layouts, FPGAs, and microprocessors is desired.
- Regulated Environment Experience: Prior experience with highly regulated environments such as Aerospace and defense electronics is highly preferred.
- $100,000-140,000+: Salary range is $100,000-140,000+ depending on experience.
