Job Title: Patient Monitor

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Monitor to join our Sitter Unit team in our New Brunswick Facility.

Job Summary:

The Patient Monitor will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients in our Sitter Unit, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. This role requires strong communication and observation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Comply with patient care decisions made by professional staff and accept responsibility for following instructions, fulfilling assignments, and learning from feedback.
  • Follow all Suicidal Precautions and Close Observation monitoring policies and procedures.
  • Observe and report patient conditions, behavior, and complaints to the nurse.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as feeding, dressing, and showering/bathing.
  • Transfer, escort, transport, and ambulate patients as needed.
  • Assure patients have correct ID bands.
  • Respond to emergencies in an appropriate manner.
  • Handle and dispose of infectious and hazardous materials per policies and procedures.
  • Maintain standards of behavior as established in the Organizational Ethics Codes of Conduct Policy.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) through American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work evening shifts, 40 hours per week, including every other weekend and holidays.
