POSITION SUMMARY:
Utilize engineering principles to enhance the efficiency of machinery, processes, and departmental financial plans to improve the maintainability, reliability, and availability of equipment, measured through Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics at our facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Planning: Oversee the planning, assessment, organization, and execution of designated installation, maintenance, and repair tasks while collaborating with other departments to minimize production downtime and ensure employee safety. Implement and support the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), specifically SAP, at our location.

Coordination: Maintain the maintenance project timeline (including rebuilds, small operational expenditure projects, and scheduled downtime) by tracking project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues. Prepare project status updates by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends, and recommending actions. Engage with plant managers and supervisors to secure necessary resources for planning and executing maintenance projects.

Reliability Functions: Drive asset care and Total Productive Maintenance strategies. Lead maintenance planning and process improvement initiatives using reliability tools. Facilitate hands-on root-cause analysis sessions. Manage the predictive maintenance program, including thermal scanning, ultrasonic testing, and vibration monitoring, to ensure adherence to established standards. Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and environmental teams to implement best maintenance practices. Conduct and lead Failure Mode Equipment Analysis (FMEA) and analyze predictive maintenance data to ensure appropriate preventative maintenance actions are taken. Review engineering specifications and design modifications for equipment reliability. Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for maintenance-related losses by working with operations and maintenance teams. Ensure that Professional Maintenance (PM) tasks are completed promptly and to high-quality standards. Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor to develop PMs that enhance reliability. Develop and maintain standard operating and maintenance procedures, as well as work instructions. Keep records of plant and individual equipment performance. Prepare and maintain data sheets, wiring diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) necessary for the efficient operation of plant equipment. Advise on the proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance activities. Analyze and present accurate data from records to prepare reports and statistics in support of continuous reliability improvement.

Projects: Review the entire project for continuity and completeness. Assist in capital project management as needed.

Communications: Maintain ongoing communication with all personnel involved in the project. Schedule regular meetings with stakeholders to update them on project status.

Personnel: Determine project staffing requirements through coordination with supervisors and managers. Utilize staffing charts to track progress and keep the project on schedule. Manage and supervise project staff, delegating technical oversight as necessary, recognizing when assistance is needed to meet timelines.

Safety and Environmental: Continuously assess the workplace for safety issues and ensure that behavioral safety initiatives are achieved. Uphold good housekeeping practices in line with SS systems, enforce plant rules and safety regulations, and support company initiatives. Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, and Safety Managers to coordinate any proposed changes using the change management system.

Cost: Collaborate with Maintenance and Production Managers regarding operational expenditure funds. Provide input for the maintenance budget.

Training: Support Autonomous Maintenance by training operators and ensuring that basic equipment conditions are maintained throughout the plant. Additionally, provide training for operators and maintenance personnel.


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:
Proficient understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), root cause analysis, predictive and preventive maintenance systems, and visual plant concepts. Excellent communication abilities. Proven capability to plan and organize effectively. Strong leadership skills with a focus on ownership and results. Familiarity with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing methodologies (can be acquired on the job). Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical tools and problem-solving techniques. Proven success in achieving goals within a team-oriented environment.

Technical Skills: Project Management, Safety Management, CAD, Circuit Design (hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical).

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
