Position Overview:


Clipboard Health is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our finance department as we continue to grow. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, you will oversee the month-end closing activities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

This role demands a collaborative spirit, working closely with the finance team to establish and refine effective accounting practices.

Ideal candidates will possess exceptional organizational and communication skills, ensuring that our consolidated financial statements are prepared with precision and punctuality.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute and evaluate daily accounting operations; manage journal entries, complex reconciliations, and facilitate a timely month-end close.
  • Demonstrate extensive expertise in month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for various categories, including cash, expenses, and payroll.
  • Assist in the establishment, maintenance, and compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures, adhering to U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives aimed at optimizing budget versus actual reporting.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Engage in special projects and provide ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Participate in the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, refining workflows as necessary.
  • Support the financial closing process by preparing comprehensive monthly financial close documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide assistance for external auditor and tax accountant requests.
  • Compile analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management review.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience.
  • Over 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA certification and experience with a Big Four firm is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of closing processes.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet and data management tools (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups).
  • Solid grasp of U.S. GAAP principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to adapt communication style to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Self-motivated individual who takes initiative on projects and demonstrates strong problem-solving capabilities.
