As part of Clipboard Health's expanding finance division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our growth. Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring that all close procedures are managed effectively and that journal entries are thoroughly reviewed and approved.

This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with the broader Finance team to establish and enhance efficient accounting practices.

To excel in this role, you should possess strong communication and organizational skills, ensuring that the company's consolidated financial statements are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and review daily operational accounting tasks; record journal entries, perform complex general ledger account reconciliations, and support the timely month-end closing process.

Demonstrate extensive experience with month-end balance sheet account reconciliations.

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounts, including cash, expenses, and payroll.

Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Contribute to various department-wide initiatives, including the optimization of budget versus actual reporting.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Engage in special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required.

Participate in the month, quarter, and year-end closing processes, refining these workflows as necessary.

Support the financial closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks.

Respond to and assist with requests from external auditors and tax accountants.

Compile analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience.

5+ years of relevant accounting experience.

CPA certification and recent experience with a Big Four firm is advantageous.

Thorough understanding of closing processes.

Proficient in spreadsheet and data management skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups).

Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Experience with ERP systems.

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally, within and outside of Finance.

Ability to tailor communication to the audience to achieve desired outcomes.

Self-motivated individual who takes initiative on projects and possesses a strong capacity to understand and address creative challenges.
