The Role

Fidelity Investments is seeking a seasoned front-end software engineer to enhance our web platform team.


As a Senior Software Engineer, your primary objective is to enable engineers at Fidelity to create innovative features efficiently and with high quality. You will achieve this by developing foundational libraries, frameworks, and tools that facilitate development, testing, and deployment within our Typescript monorepos.

Your expertise in web-specific technologies and integrations will be crucial in driving the implementation and standardization of shared tools across the organization.

The Team


The workspace web platform team is dedicated to establishing a cohesive developer experience across Fidelity. You will actively participate in the creation of standardized tools for testing frameworks, developer environments, build systems, CI jobs, client libraries for observability and experimentation, editor integrations, and REST + GraphQL implementations.

Your contributions will significantly enhance the productivity and experience of front-end developers across various product areas.


The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a front-end software engineer utilizing modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, analytics, design, and development of enterprise solutions across multiple technology platforms, frameworks, and languages.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Nx workspaces and a strong understanding of monorepos.
  • 2+ years of solid experience with current DevOps practices and CI/CD frameworks.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with diverse groups to prototype and deliver common solutions.
  • Capability to analyze business direction, comprehend long-term vision, and assess the risk/benefits of developing strategic technical solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with product owners, architects, and software engineers.
  • Experience in cloud technologies and practices, particularly in building and deploying applications using AWS or Azure.


Background in the following skills:

  • Angular, Typescript, NX Workspace, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Cypress, Playwright
  • Web Components, Component Architecture
  • GIT, Jenkins, DevOps – CI/CD delivery code (groovy or other)
  • Managing Shared Libraries, Working with design systems
  • WCAG 2.1 and AA/AAA Standards

What Matters Most in This Role:
Your modern frontend expertise and dedication to engineering excellence will be key. Experience with large-scale projects across multiple business groups is essential, along with a strong background in monorepos. You should be a capable developer with experience in leadership roles.
