Job Title: Traveling Scheduling Manager

Join Turner Construction, a leading construction company, as a Traveling Scheduling Manager. In this role, you will oversee the scheduling activities of a team of scheduling engineers, project staff, or consultants assigned to scheduling functions on one or more construction projects of varying size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct scheduling activities, including monitoring, tracking progress, and preparing summary and detail-level schedules.
  • Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Communicate project execution plans, monitor performance against original baseline schedules, and promote early identification and mitigation of risks.
  • Collaborate with project departments, such as Preconstruction, Commissioning, Procurement, and Construction, to prepare detailed schedules.
  • Integrate Last Planner System (LPS) methodology into construction project schedules.
  • Perform monthly progress updates, complete with narrative, and create target comparison and periodic look-ahead schedules.
  • Develop and update cost and/or resource-loaded schedules.
  • Conduct project schedule reviews with project leadership and provide Scheduling Dashboard statistics at Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other sessions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Large construction project experience (>$100m).
  • Scheduling Certification desired (e.g., Associate of Advancement of Cost Engineers (ACE) Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), Project Management Institute (PMI) Scheduling Professional (SP)).
  • Experience in construction project engineering and supervisory positions.
  • Knowledgeable of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to build schedules.
  • Proficient use of scheduling software applications (e.g., Oracle Primavera P6).
  • Proficient use of scheduling diagnostic and comparison tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Change Inspector).
  • Familiar with earned value concepts and using construction resources to validate productivity and durations.
  • Ability to develop metrics and track results.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills.
