Operations Manager Job Description

Lambert's Cable Splicing Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our construction telecommunications team. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing project-level activities, ensuring stakeholder notification and buy-in, and managing project close-out per company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and update project documentation
  • Program task management and develop program file systems
  • Contact customers to obtain project-specific information
  • Estimate revenue and customer costs using provided estimating tools
  • Ensure stakeholder notification and buy-in
  • Complete project close-out per company standards
  • Track accruals weekly and submit at the end of each week
  • Schedule work and crew make-ups with the scheduler
  • Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting
  • Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to ensure accurate revenue accounting
  • Forecast month and year for each project and program
  • Create purchase orders
  • Design, review, and estimate take-offs
  • Work with internal support groups to set up projects in the accounting system
  • Remove obstacles and empower Operations to be successful
  • Manage project-level activities, including critical path monitoring, procurement, resource loading, forecasting, conflict resolution, and critical path risk identification and mitigation
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems
  • Lead efforts to gather all project-level status to report on project status to all stakeholders
  • Track change impact and delay impact
  • Forecast and manage materials to facilitate scheduled work on time and under budget
Requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • Previous work in telecommunications construction in outside plant facilities
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Manager of construction crews
  • Extensive knowledge of telecommunications construction requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering Construction Telecommunications services or utility-related industry
  • Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi-site construction projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance
