Role Summary:

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in the upkeep of sophisticated, robotic-controlled automated fastening systems utilized in aircraft assembly. As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Broetje is tasked with all maintenance and programmable logic controller (PLC) troubleshooting for this specialized equipment.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in CNC/machine tool troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Siemens S7 control systems

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient in mechanical maintenance and technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and maintenance, demonstrating strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Understanding of basic safety protocols related to hand and power tools, lifting equipment, and ladders.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, receptive to guidance, and eager to enhance job knowledge and efficiency.
  • Adheres to safety practices and regulations; follows safe driving protocols for forklift and man-lift operations.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with basic arithmetic and the metric system.
  • Competent in operating MS Windows-based PCs and using MS Office applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the functionality of machinery and mechanical systems by fulfilling maintenance requirements on Broetje Automated Fuselage Equipment and associated support systems; adhering to operational manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and engineering specifications; diagnosing malfunctions.
  • Identify problem sources by observing mechanical and electrical assemblies in operation; listening for irregularities; utilizing precision measuring tools and test fixtures.
  • Dismantle assemblies using hand and power tools, hoists, and cranes to remove defective components; assess the form and fit of parts.
  • Adjust functional components of tools and equipment according to written specifications in OEM documentation.
  • Minimize downtime by conducting routine preventive maintenance on equipment in accordance with written procedures that comply with OEM standards.
  • Manage equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels; anticipating necessary equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; confirming receipt through the Maximo asset management system.
  • Optimize maintenance resources by utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently to complete tasks.
  • Compile mechanical maintenance reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Ensure continuity between work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, discrepancies, and ongoing needs through inter-shift pass downs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
