POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Engineer delivers technical support and manufacturing assistance for all aspects of product and process quality, including root cause analysis, data collection, and plans for incoming quality.

Reports to: Quality Systems Manager
Location: In-Office

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This is an individual contributor role with no direct supervisory duties
Core Responsibilities for this position
  • Document Root Cause and Corrective Action for internal and external challenges
  • Support targeted quality initiatives, including process control, root cause analysis, corrective actions, documentation, and inspection execution.
  • Lead incoming quality efforts, addressing vendor quality issues, FAIR, and PPAP.
  • Assist with receiving inspection activities as necessary.
  • Help teams in resolving quality challenges.
  • Review production quality data promptly and address trends and anomalies.
  • Track and report on plant/team/cell and/or quality performance at predetermined intervals and communicate results.
  • Participate in the coordination and execution of calibration requirements.
  • Support and/or conduct audits to align with organizational objectives.
  • Promote the use of quality tools
  • Identify key process characteristics and assist in developing plans for process control and continuous improvement based on that data.
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits - ISO9001, 13485, and AS9100
  • Other related duties and/or projects as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or mathematics-related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of SPC, preventive and corrective action practices.
  • Ability to interface with customers and vendors is essential.
  • ASQ technician or engineer certification is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve issues
  • Familiarity with quality tools including (but not limited to): Pareto analysis, SPC (run charts, scatter diagrams, histograms, normal probability charts).
  • Intermediate PC skills - ERP, MS Office required. Knowledge of MS Access, MS Project, ERP, and PDM is a plus.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Mathematical and statistical skills required.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written, are required.
  • Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from similar experiences without established precedents or policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Must possess a sense of urgency and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet, similar to that of an office setting
  • The noise level in the manufacturing area is moderate
Work Authorization
  • The candidate must meet the definition of "US Person" under ITAR/EAR regulations.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time, on-site position
  • Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm, with some flexibility
  • It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to achieve the required results
