Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for delivering technical support and manufacturing assistance across all facets of product and process quality. This includes conducting root cause investigations, gathering data, and formulating plans for incoming quality assurance.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Senior Manager of Program Management

Work Location: On-site in Eden Prairie, MN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervisory Role

  • This position is an individual contributor role without direct supervisory duties.

Core Responsibilities

  • Document root cause analyses and corrective actions for both internal and external quality issues.
  • Assist in targeted quality initiatives, including process management, root cause analysis, documentation, and system execution.
  • Oversee incoming quality processes, addressing vendor quality concerns, First Article Inspection (FAIR), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Support receiving inspection tasks as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Review production quality metrics promptly and address any trends or anomalies.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance metrics at designated intervals.
  • Participate in the organization and execution of calibration requirements.
  • Conduct and support various audits to align with organizational goals.
  • Promote the application of quality management tools.
  • Identify critical process characteristics and assist in developing plans for process control and continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits, including ISO9001, 13485, and AS9100.
  • Perform other related tasks and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or mathematics-related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing setting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and preventive/corrective action methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers and suppliers.
  • ASQ technician or engineer certification is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with quality management tools, including Pareto analysis and various SPC charts.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PC applications, including ERP and MS Office; knowledge of MS Access and MS Project is advantageous.
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities to ensure high customer satisfaction.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet.
  • The manufacturing area has a moderate noise level.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

  • The candidate must meet the definition of 'US Person' under ITAR/EAR regulations.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a full-time, on-site role.
  • Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
