Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the upkeep, calibration, and assessment of renal dialysis machines and associated apparatus utilized in treatment procedures.
  • Accurately documents, maintains, assesses, interprets, and organizes all reports, repair logs, microbiological assessments, and related paperwork.
  • Aids in the compilation of monthly quality assurance reports pertaining to all renal systems and apparatus.
  • Ensures an adequate inventory of spare components for equipment servicing and repairs.
  • Communicates and documents all equipment failures to the Technical Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, and other relevant personnel in accordance with established protocols.
  • Reports equipment inadequacies to manufacturers and regulatory bodies when required.
  • Oversees and maintains the water treatment facility.
  • Manages and maintains unit inventory, placing orders as needed.
  • Stays informed about new apparatus, treatment methodologies, maintenance bulletins, and supply issues affecting the unit.
  • Cultivates a professional rapport with vendors to ensure a smooth exchange of information regarding advancements in nephrology and other operational matters.
  • Conducts and assesses quality control of dialysis machines and water treatment facilities, adhering to AAMI standards.
  • Responsible for the sanitation and disinfection of dialysis equipment and water treatment facilities.
  • Knowledgeable and trained in the safety, preparation, and use of all chemicals utilized in the renal unit.
  • Open to attending seminars, lectures, and continuing education courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborates as part of the Hemodialysis team to uphold, enhance, assist, communicate, and contribute to the highest standards of patient care.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

The candidate should possess knowledge and be capable of assisting in the implementation of AAMI and State regulations relevant to the Hemodialysis unit.

Education:

A High School diploma is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
