Digital Communications Specialist Job Summary

AFSCME is seeking a skilled Digital Communications Specialist to support the organization's online initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating engaging digital content, managing social media, and analyzing metrics to optimize online performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement online communication strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  2. Create and distribute high-quality digital content, including emails, social media posts, and text messages.
  3. Analyze and report on digital metrics to inform future communication strategies.
  4. Collaborate with the digital team to provide training and support to affiliates on digital tools and platforms.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest digital trends and best practices to ensure AFSCME's online presence remains competitive.

Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in online communications or a related field.
  • Proven track record of creating engaging digital content and analyzing metrics to optimize online performance.
  • Strong knowledge of digital tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and customer relationship management systems.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and digital project management software.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript coding skills.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising and social media community management.
