Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist II provides routine respiratory care services for pediatric adult and geriatric patient populations at Dignity Health. Key responsibilities include provision of inhaled medication, bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, noninvasive ventilation (NIV), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), arterial blood gas analysis, and limited assessment of pulmonary mechanics in accordance with Respiratory Therapy protocols and/or policy & procedure.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist II may assist physicians with complex procedures such as endotracheal intubation and therapeutic bronchoscopy as needed. They are designated for individuals who may not have demonstrated/ documented competency in all areas of clinical care. When all requirements regarding competency and experience have been met, the individual would be eligible for reclassification as a Respiratory Therapist III. Additionally, they provide routine respiratory care services including but not limited to oxygen therapy, NIV, CPAP, and arterial blood gas analysis.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a valid State of California License or Permit Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification is also required. A minimum of one year of experience as a respiratory therapist is necessary, along with successful completion of accredited school of respiratory therapy and associated clinical rotations. An Associate of Science degree is also preferred.

Salary Information

We offer an estimated annual salary of $147,281 based on an hourly rate of $70.78.
