We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at PACS Inc. in Santa Cruz, California. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Job

This role involves planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy to restore patient's pulmonary function, alleviate pain, and support life. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a dynamic and specialized care environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and assess patient evaluations and test results to determine treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Administer inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators as prescribed by physicians.
  • Evaluate effects of treatment plans by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
Requirements
  • Restores patient's pulmonary function, alleviates pain, and supports life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.
  • Meets patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by conducting pulmonary function tests, assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription.
  • Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and supports life by administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Directs treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
