Job Summary:

Anesthesia Technicians play a vital role in the anesthesia patient care team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our team, you will assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in both invasive and non-invasive anesthesia procedures, ensuring patient care and safety throughout.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist anesthesia professionals with invasive procedures, anticipating and preparing patients for monitoring procedures.
  • Help prepare and drape patients for invasive monitoring procedures.
  • Assist with procedures like pulmonary artery catheterization, central venous access, fiber optic intubation, and managing difficult airway situations.
  • Provide technical support, ensuring necessary equipment is available in each operating room.
  • Prepare and assemble equipment for arterial, central venous, and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring.
  • Maintain and organize anesthesia workstations, keeping them clean and organized daily.
  • Perform basic anesthesia technician duties, including stocking operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, cleaning anesthesia equipment after procedures, and ensuring anesthesia machines are ready and available for use.
  • Manage anesthesia medication inventory, refilling medications for patient use, reviewing computer reports to manage medication levels, and filling patient medication orders from computer-generated reports.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a fast-paced clinical setting required.
  • Prior experience as an Anesthesia Technician or current enrollment in an Anesthesia Tech program preferred.
  • Annual BLS certification required.
  • Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians desired.
