Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing basic visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of parts to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of parts using mechanical inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, surface plate techniques, air gage, go/no go gages, and other mechanical inspection equipment.

  • Compile and maintain accurate inspection records, including documentation of inspection results and any necessary corrective actions.

  • Receive and process customer returns (RMA) in the ERP system, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of customer issues.

  • Perform inventory material transactions in the ERP system, including receiving, storing, and shipping of materials.

  • Execute diverse tasks, including inventory material transfers, coordination with regional Customer Care teams, and provision of RMA status updates.

  • Review and prepare RMA repairs or replacements for shipping to customers, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of customer issues.

  • Perform cycle counting as required to maintain accurate inventory levels.

  • Perform internal MRB rework as required to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency in the inspection process.

  • Discuss technical problems encountered with manager, engineering staff, or purchasing staff to ensure timely and effective resolution.

  • Ability to plan own work schedule based on material requirements and skillset possessed.

General Requirements

  • Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Implementation of instructions from the quality/environmental management representative and occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training, and Competencies

  • One (1) to two (2) years related experience.

  • High school, trade school, or equivalent education.

  • Manual dexterity.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with data entry and basic computer skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and superiors.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment.

  • Willingness to work within prescribed procedures.

  • Positive attitude, willingness to work with peers.

  • Displays a high moral and business code of conduct.

  • Respectful of peers, subordinates, and supervisors.

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.

  • Job is performed while sitting or standing.
