Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector to join our team at Atkore International. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and processes, and for identifying and implementing improvements to our quality control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Control: Perform random sampling inspections of all incoming, in-process, and finished products to ensure 100% of quality requirements are met.
  • Process Verification: Ensure product after each changeover is being verified to ensure compliance to product requirements.
  • Documentation: Record and maintain all inspection information in designated check sheets.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting: Initiate Non-Conformance Reports when defective product conditions are observed, including updating the required log for traceability purposes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective containment and resolution of issues.
  • Process Audits: Perform Layered Process Audits (LPAs) to ensure that all required process and product characteristics are being complied with.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven track record as a quality inspector for at least 2 years.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for details and a passion for results and facts-based approach.
  • Quality Testing: Familiarity with quality testing methods (e.g., vernier caliper, micrometer, hardness test, tension test, etc.).
  • ISO 9001: Experience working in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System-based organization.
  • Microsoft Office: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
What You'll Achieve
  • Atkore Immersion: Complete your Atkore immersion program within 3 months.
  • Team Understanding: Gain an understanding of your team and their roles within 3 months.
  • Operational Excellence: Achieve operational excellence, superior product quality, and customer satisfaction within 6 months.
  • UL and CSA Testing: Perform UL and CSA required testing within 12 months.
