Morgan Advanced Materials is the industry leader in development and manufacturer of ceramic to metal seals for both Aerospace and Medical markets. We improve the quality of life with our implantable medical components and ensure the safety of travelers by developing multiple components for the Aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform various tasks assigned by Department Supervisor, maintaining quality and quantity with strong accountability and standards.
- Conduct mechanical and visual inspections of ceramics, metal parts, final product, and raw material using hand tools, reticles, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, dial indicators, CMMS, vision systems, and other standard gauging equipment.
- Maintain traceability of final and purchased product at all times, verifying previous operations and supporting documents such as lab results, MIR cards, and CoCs.
- Work under a microscope for long periods, using reticles to perform measurements, and verify measuring equipment calibration.
- Alert Supervisor or Manager if equipment validity is in question or product reflects abnormal defects or significant quality issues.
- Perform Syteline functions required of Inspectors, identifying test status, non-conforming material, and accepted material using department procedures and work instructions.
- Complete paperwork, such as data sheets, lab requests, and NCMRs, which may be electronic or hard copy.
- Interpret sample size from a standard AQL table and familiar with computers and basic Microsoft Applications.
- May perform other inspection and/or production functions as required, conducting all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with local, state, and federal EHS regulations and Morgan New Bedford, MA EHS Guidelines.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1-3 years mechanical inspection experience using a wide variety of equipment and tolerances to at least the 5th decimal point
- CMI Certification or equivalent preferred
