Job Title: Parts Department Director

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parts Department Director to lead our parts management team at Yellow Door. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits.

About the Job:

The Parts Department Director will oversee daily operations, including stock orders, sourcing, branch transfers, receiving, and pricing. This role involves managing inventory levels to meet service department and external customer requirements while minimizing obsolescence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Performance:
    • Meet departmental sales, gross profit, and net profit forecasts.
    • Control expenses and achieve a targeted net return on sales.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily parts operations, including stock orders, sourcing, branch transfers, receiving, and pricing.
    • Review emergency and breakdown orders to ensure customer needs are met promptly.
    • Manage inventory levels to meet service department and external customer requirements while minimizing obsolescence.
  • Staff Development:
    • Hire, train, motivate, and conduct annual reviews for parts staff.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment with clear goals and expectations.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Maintain strong working relationships with internal department managers and external customers.
    • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by delivering timely and accurate parts support.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Develop, enforce, and monitor effective parts processes to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Review and refine vendor, customer, and department procedures to align with company goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Parts Management role.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles related to parts operations, vendor management, supply chain, and accounting.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • MS Navision experience preferred.
